She walked slowly through the town, her heart ached for him and her mind was slowly shutting down. She had been taken away from her parents and her only love. She carried a basket of bread on her hip and on her back she wore a child. Her slave owner had just had a baby boy and she was always gone, leaving her with the new born child. As she walked the fog lifted from the streets and she could see before her. A large wagon full of women and young girls like her. As the wagon passed she saw her friend, Kaitlyn sitting on the end. Her hands were tied and her eyes looked like she had been punched. The girl turned on the wagon and cired out, "I'll be back soon. I love you Desi!" Then the wagon was gone.

The girl, who's name was Desi, stood there. Tears stained her face as she heard the hoof beats leave her, and that ment her friend as well. On her back the baby began to cry and she sighed, another long day, and now with out a friend to help her. Everyday now it seemed as if her slave owner sold a girl to someone else. She wondered when it would be her turn to leave. "Not in this life time." She thought to herself. She was way too good with the children and with the cooking to be leaving the slave owners. As she walked down the street she came to a road that lead up to a large house. She looked at it and then pushed the gate open, knowing she was aloud inside.

As she came up the steps to the grand house she saw one of the older woman being hit by the young master. She winced as the older woman screamed in pain and blood flashed around her pack. Desi hated the young master, he was always flirting with her and trying to get her into bed with him, but she would never do it. She was only going to let her heart be taken by one guy, and it already was. "Tyler." She sighed. She turned when her name was called and she hurried up the steps. She ran forward, making the baby on her back squell with delight. She just rolled her hazel orbs and went to cook the meal. Knowing her knight in shinning armor was coming for her.
